Exhausted after a busy weekend

Well – it will be a brief one this week readers.  I'm shattered – though pleasantly so.  A very busy weekend indeed.  Friday in Halifax, Saturday in Hull then today (Sunday) in Manchester.

Friday in Halifax I was discussing possible future projects with the Bankfield Museum then Saturday I was honoured to be the guest of honour to open the brand new Sightcare Opticians in Willerby, Hull.  Lovely people who have completely refurbished their premises and it is now very modern and swish with all the latest kit.  I took them a cake and we had a good chat with clients, friends and family.

Today was the biggest event and I was booked for two demonstrations at the Cake and Bake Show in Manchester.  I was due on stage at 11.30am so considered leaving home at 8am would be fine for a 90 mile journey.  How wrong – as we made our final approaches to Manchester then we hit the traffic.  Couldn't believe it !  Cars everywhere and I finally got into the building at 10.45am which had me stressing !!

However, all was well and the crowd was absolutely brilliant.  They were interactive, attentive and laughed in all the right places !  People make the experience so wonderful and I thank you all.

I also met Paul Jagger, Ugne and Dorrett from series 6 and Howard from series 4.  It was a great day and a special thank you to Paul for giving me his tart to bring home – it was delicious..

I made a full English Stromboli which I am pleased to say was devoured by the back stage crew.  I love it when people eat my food.  Whilst I'm at it I want to thank all those people who have tried the mince pies – and sent me photos to prove it. Well done

I am now going to settle down to Antiques Roadshow – talk next week.
